At the end of World War II there was a surge of high performance, fast and sporty cars that began to emerge. The soldiers who were returning home from war were instantly attracted to these fast sports cars, many which were exported by Britain. At that time the British were building high quality sports cars at a price many could afford. The British sports cars were superbly engineered and quickly began taking the sports car world by storm. Their sleek and sporty design made them highly desirable.

The fast and sporty British cars began to really take off when the Triumph came out with the TR2 in 1953. At the time Triumph produced some of the most sought after cars in the world. The United States fell in love with it and soon began seeking other British sports cars.

Taking A Look At The Cars

The Jaguar is probably the most popular fast, sport car the British offer. Many people see the Jaguar as the top of the line automobile. The brand new Portfolio which is being unveiled in March 2007 brags of a speed of 155 mph and can reach 60 mph in only 4.9 seconds. The Portfolio features a 4.2 liter engine and the car will be offered worldwide.

BMW is also offering a new coupe and convertible in their 3 series. These are supposed to be the most appealing BMW fast and sporty cars to date. These come with aerodynamic styling and lower suspension which offers a sportier look and ride. These sport modes are offered in Silver, Black, Blue, Graphite, White, and Red.

Aston Martin is announcing improvements to their famous Vanquish S. This automobile is famous for its luxury and unique style. It was also made famous by James Bond in the movie “Die Another Day”. The Vanquish S Ultimate Edition will showcase many of the features of the Vanquish s that many Britons love. With only 40 being built, these cars will be offered as a limited edition and predictions say they will all be sold in only a few weeks.

This edition will be produced in Ultimate Black and this will be the only car available in this color. The interior will be trimmed in leather and stylish black chrome. It will offer a top speed of 200 mph. This car is the result of customer research and request and contains the features most sought after by the public. It comes with a high price tag but will be considered an investment since the car will likely maintain or increase in value.

All About Exotic Sports Cars

For many owning a sports car is a lifelong goal they aspire to. Even as children we are almost programmed to turn and look at the beautiful sleek sports car as it cruises through the town. Sports cars are the zenith of motoring and something which people dedicate their lives to. Benetton shops were created purely to fund one man’s love for racing and that is just one well known example.

Everyone can name at least one sports car, Ferrari’s, Porsches, Bentley, Aston Martin, Porsche, Lotus and Lamborghini to name just a few. So what is the appeal of such unobtainable cars? Sports cars aren’t for convenience or practicalities; they are purely made to be beautiful and luxurious. Why is it that so many of our own screen hero’s don’t drive practical 4×4’s or be economically friendly and cycle? Can we really picture James Bond turning up to save the world in a 5 door hatchback? No. Sports cars do exactly what they say on the tin. They are fast; they only hold 2 people and don’t worry about space for things like groceries.

Sports cars were initially manufactured for the affluent classes as the “ordinary” cars of the day were dull and boring and practical. Sports cars provided the luxury of speed, safety and comfort. With ordinary cars becoming better looking, more comfortable and safer and the sports cars becoming economically unsound the market is dropping. People are driving now not for pleasure but because they have to. Public transport is becoming more expensive and with town and cities spreading ever wider and wider the need to drive is becoming more prevalent. For those who buying a car is not a necessity but a pleasure, you can complete your man about town image by buying the latest fashion and accessories from Armani, Brioni (Suit maker for James Bond), BOSS, Kiton and Ralph Lauren or expensive cigars and watches like Cartier and Breitling from some of web sites that offer these products at more reasonable prices.

Hopefully, sometime soon we will remember why we love the dream of sports cars and forget our practical hatchbacks.

Have you ever driven an exotic sports car? Have you ever had the experience of cruising down the road in a foreign sports car, feeling the raw power through the steering wheel, and knowing that you are the envy of everyone who sees you drive by?

It is a great feeling, and it is a feeling that you can have, if you want to. There are hundreds of places across the US that will rent a sports car to you by the day or even by the week. Yes, it will cost a bit more than the typical Ford Taurus or Chevy Cavalier to rent, but for the unforgettable experience of driving such a fine piece of powerful machinery, it will be worth it, if for no other reason that bragging rights to your friends as well as the wondering eyes of your neighbors when they see that beauty parked in your driveway.

What are your options? If you do a bit of searching, you will likely find a business that does sports car rentals pretty close to almost any major city. Finding a Corvette or a Mustang Mach 1 is probably very simple. Even a Cadillac, Range Rover, Hummer H3 or Mercedes Benz would not be too difficult to find. But if you’re going to do this, then do it right. If your tastes are a bit sportier or you want to show off with European sports car flair, you can do that too. For example, you could rent a Ferrari 348 Spider, Ferrari 355/360 (6-speed & F-1 paddle shift), Porsche Boxster, Viper GTS, Prowler, Alfa Romeo, a Jaguar XK, a BMW, the Aston Martin Vantage, or even a Lamborghini Gallardo or Rolls Royce.

Just imagine what it would be like to be driving one of those for a few days or even a week. The local streets around your home town would be a totally new experience for you. Think about using that sports car rental to take that new client to lunch one day. Even better, think about picking up your significant other in this beauty to celebrate a special occasion. Hint for you guys: maybe it’s a birthday or an anniversary, but if you make that special occasion the anniversary date of the first time you ever went out with her, the combination of that exotic sports car plus the fact that you actually remembered that date will win you countless brownie points.

Since this is pretty much a “premium” sports car rental, you can expect premium service to accompany those premium prices. Most places will deliver the car to you at the airport or at your hotel. Be sure to make your reservation ahead of time to ensure that the car you want is going to be available when you want it.

No, it’s not cheap, but the thrill and the experience will indeed be memorable. Life is short, you work hard, so take the time occasionally to indulge yourself and treat yourself to a taste of how the other half lives.

Ford is a well known brand across the world, it owns 33% of Mazda known by its modern cars featured in films such as the Fast and the Furious, Jaguar, Aston Martin and many others. From its many car models, one of the most famous is the Mustang. Manufactured and engineered to be a muscle car, this particular car model stands away from the rest by it unique design and power. The best part is that due to this model’s reputation the company keeps improving and redesigning it to deliver a high quality driving machine every single time.

Ford Mustangs are highly customizable sport cars and in recent years have shown many modifications to its design. The wheelbase in both versions (convertible and coupe) are 101.3 inches, the curb weight varies just a tiny bit from the convertible to the coupe models, the curb weight of a mustang 2 door convertible is 3257 pounds while the two door coupe is 3077 pounds. As far as fuel capacity both models, convertible and coupe can hold up to 15.4 gallons. Both models can comfortably accommodate 4 passengers.

As far as design, second and third Mustang generations were not as good as the first one but the machinery quality improved. Second and third generations range from 1974-1993. During the 1980s Mustangs were going through a hard transition when Ford announced that they would replace the rear-wheel drive Mustang with a Mazda-derived four wheel drive version, luckily for them and its clients the fourth generation of Mustangs came along, this generation of fords is almost as welcomed as the first due to the significant redesign this model went through.

The 1994 Mustang coupe was starting to show signs of potential and greatness but it wasn’t until 1995 when the GTS model was introduced to the market. In 1996 Mustang’s engine went through a major upgrade, this is when the Windsor 5.0 L engine was replaced by 215 horse power 4.6L SOHC Modular V8 engine and in 1998 the SOHC engine was increased to 225 HP through aggressive PCM calibration a larger exhaust and a modified fuel system.

As far as power, the 3.8 V6 engine sent developed 145-190 horsepower, the GT 5.0L V8 sends 240 hp to the back axle.

In 1994-2004 models Mustang GT’s power was increased to 260hp and consumers have loved this car ever since, that’s not even mentioning the awesome “MODs” available which include new decals, bumpers, paint work, rims, etc. Not only it is extremely reliable and stylish but many consumers have reported that it’s stereo system beats any other manufacturer-installed car stereo in the market, it has an extremely good bass, the midrange is perfectly set as well as the highs.

Aston Martin is also an outstanding fast and high end Ford-owned driving machine which delivers great power, speed and style but that’s another article.
